Instructions if you need them:
1. Each student needs to post at least once in the comments section of their period's blog post.
2. Posts should be about Day 4 reading, and can be either a discussion question, or an answer to someone else's discussion question.
3. Try to keep questions and answers roughly equal... if you see there are more questions than answers, add a question. If you see more answers than questions... pose a question!
Some additional suggestions:
- include page numbers if you're asking a question
- make sure it's clear who you're answering- either reply directly to a question, or state in your comment which question you're referring to

Why does Crooks have more personal items than the others on the ranch.
ReplyDeleteSince he was a stable hand, his job is more stable than others, so he has had more opportunities to collect personal items.
DeleteWhy does Crooks ask what would Lennie do if George didn't come back?(71)
ReplyDeleteCrooks is always lonely, so when he sees Lennie so happy with George as his company, he gets jealous and bitter and wants to see what would happen if he said George wouldn't come back.

Why did Curley's wife marry Curley if she doesn't even like him?
ReplyDeleteShe most likely did it for the money and power. Because she is the wife of the son of the boss, the other workers have to treat her with respect, since Curley is extremely sensitive and is quick to react to anything. For example, when she was talking to Crooks. She mentioned how he can't say anything to her or "something" might happen. He is already at a disadvantage, being a handicapped and all, so making her upset might cause him to loose his job.
DeleteCurley's wife was probably just mad at her mom and her family for not allowing her to take the multiple opportunities that passed her way; she wanted to leave her house as fast as she can and prove to herself that she can go somewhere else and start a new life.
DeleteWhy doesn't Lennie think that George is hurt and won't come back?
ReplyDeleteI actually don't think he was sure that George wasn't hurt/coming back for him. I think that Lennie was just trying to convince himself that George wouldn't leave him, because he was afraid of what the outcome would be if George actually left Lennie.
DeleteHi Ms. Levin, I posted on the blog before you made this new post, so my comment is on the Period 3 Discussion post. Sorry for the inconvenience.
